Website of the Week: Kindersay

May 29th 2009 06:00
I just discovered a really great website that parents of preschoolers would appreciate. It's called Kindersay and it offers educational videos for free. The videos help young children develop a wider vocabulary and its especially helpful to kids who are learning English as their second language.

See for yourself by visiting their website I'm not connected in any way to this website, or for that matter, to all the other websites I feature here on my blog. I just like sharing these resources especially when I find them helpful and educational.

Stitches and Stuff

May 25th 2009 12:20
I've been away from the blogging world for a few days because of a minor accident. As I was preparing lunch for my family, a bottle I was holding slipped, fell and shattered on the floor; causing a deep cut on my left foot. I needed to go to the hospital and get it stitched because the cut was bleeding profusely. I was having trouble moving around for a few days as my wound was still fresh, but thankfully today I feel much better. I go back to the hospital next week to get the stitches out...so not looking forward to that.

Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and wish those of you in the U.S. a Happy Memorial Day! Hope you guys are having a wonderful long weekend. And to my regular readers, I'll be back tomorrow for my usual blog posts.

May 13th 2009 12:59
I turned a year older this month and I'm getting closer and closer to the big 4-0. This is the reason why I decided to celebrate my birthday with a splash, so to speak, by hosting a swimming party. All in all it was a very fun and successful celebration with close family and friends.

Speaking of birthdays, I saw this horoscope add-on that you can post to your blog or website. Here's a sample using my zodiac sign:

Add Games to Your Web site

May 7th 2009 07:45
There is a very cool Web site I've recently discovered called heyZap. This site allows you to embed online games to your Web site or blog. Just enter your site name, site url, and other pertinent info and then create an account to generate the code. Here's a sample of how it will look like on your site or blog; for this one I chose puzzle games cause I love solving puzzles. Try them out by going to the heyZap Web site.

May 7th 2009 07:33
If you and your child are interested in getting to know more about the people and events that have shaped history, the History Channel has lots of educational videos to choose from. The videos are arranged by categories and the quality is quite excellent. Most of all, it's for free! So go ahead and immerse yourself in history by visiting their video gallery here.

More Gifted Children

May 7th 2009 07:12
Is it nature or nurture? I believe it's both. According to an article from the New York Times, there is a 45% increase in the number of Kindergarten students qualifying for gifted programs in NYC. More of this news here.
