People who are left-brain dominant are said to be organized, logical, good at following directions, good in science and math, etc. While people who are right-brain dominant are said to be absentminded, spontaneous, not good at following verbal directions, good at writing, drawing or playing an instrument, etc.
To figure out which side of your brain is more dominant, take this test from The Art Institute of Vancouverr. My result revealed I'm right-brain dominant, which might explain why I'm so bad at remembering names but good at remembering faces.
There are many creative people out there and perhaps most of them are posting their videos on YouTube, Take this video for example that tests your spelling prowess in a very unique way. I haven't completed the test yet so I'm unsure whether this is suitable for kids, but for the young at heart like me, I think you'll enjoy this.
The ongoing recession is affecting education programs around the globe, including arts and gifted education programs. In New Zealand, budget cuts threaten programs for gifted and talented kids. More on this news here.
There's a website called Planet CDROM that offers different types of softwares mostly for free. However, you pay shipping & handling and they only ship to U.S. addresses. Their softwares are available for Windows and Mac and covers a variety of topics; from education to business.
I don't usually post personal issues on my blog, but today I felt the need to rant. You see, I'm one of those soft-hearted people who have been taken advantaged of time and time again. And although I'm not as gullible as I once was, there are still times when compassion clouds my judgment.

By now many of you may be familiar with the name Susan Boyle; the 47-year old woman from Scotland who shot to stardom after her brilliant audition on Britain's Got Talent. Susan's story inspired millions of people, including me. And if residents in the United States were allowed to vote on the said show, I would have surely voted for her. Alas, Susan didn't win Britain's Got Talent, it was a dance group called Diversity that won. However, I'm sure offers are lined up for Susan because she really has a beautiful voice and I believe she deserves a break.
The latest news on Susan is that she has been admitted into a hospital for what seems to be exhaustion. I can only imagine the extreme pressure she has been subjected to as the result of her sudden fame. What really bothers me about all this is how quickly some people change their minds; one minute they are celebrating this woman and the next they are tearing her down. Is it really in our nature to be so cruel?
