Caldecott Award-Winning Books

The Caldecott Medal is given each year since 1938 to illustrators of children's picture books in America. The said award was named after Randolph Caldecott, who was an illustrator himself. This award is given annually by the Association for Library Service to Children.
This year the winner is David Wiesner who illustrated the picture book "Flotsam". Past winners include the following:
1942 - Make Way for Ducklings by Robert McCloskey
1963 - The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats
1982 - Jumanji by Chris Van Allsburg
1986 - The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg
1998 - Rapunzel by Paul O. Zelinsky
2006 - The Hello, Goodbye Window illustrated by Chris Raschka

Those I posted above are actually books we've already read and they're all good. I like the illustrations and the stories are very well told, especially The Polar Express.
