Gimme A Cookie

Today, to my delight, my husband brought home several boxes of cookies he bought from a girl scout who visited his office. The Girl Scouts have made cookies a part of their program in order to teach young girls important life skills such as money management. These cookies are made by ABC/Interbake Foods and Little Brownie Bakers, both licensed by the Girl Scouts. When you buy a box of cookies from a girl scout, a certain percentage goes to support their local group.
These cookies come in a variety of flavors, my favorite are the Thin Mints. My daughter on the other hand prefers the Peanut Butter Patties My hubby bought one we haven't tasted before - Lemonades. According to the Girl Scout website, these cookies contain no preservatives and less than 0.5 grams of trans fat per serving. Still, parents should monitor their kids' consumption of these cookies or any snack food for that matter.
If you have a young daughter, consider letting her join the Girl Scouts. Even if you're daughter isn't a gril scout or if you're single, you can support these girls and their organization by buying their cookies.
