I Hate Goodbyes

Yes, I do. But really, who out there is fond of goodbyes? I reckon we all hate it, but as with everything in life, there will come a time when we have to say goodbye.
I recently lost my eldest brother, it was so sudden. He died of a heart attack, it happened while he was in his office. He was rushed to the hospital where doctors struggled to revive him. But after several agonizing tries, my brother passed away. He was married, a father to two young girls ages 10 and 6.
This shocked our whole family, he was so young, he didn't have a heart diesease. Why? This question reverberated in our hearts even as we laid him to rest. Why?
I guess we will never know the reason why but what happened reminded us all of the fact that life is fleeting and death is imminent. We are all living on borrowed time.
And so each day we must.....
LIVE AS IF IT WERE OUR LAST
DON'T HOLD GRUDGES
LET GO OF OUR ANGER
RECONCILE
SHOW THE PEOPLE AROUND US THAT WE CARE
SHOW THEM WE LOVE THEM
ASK FOR FORGIVENESS
AND BE WILLING TO FORGIVE
STRIVE HARD TO REACH OUR GOALS
BUT BE THANKFUL FOR WHAT WE HAVE
Because the truth is, everything that we thought was important becomes useless when we know it's time to say goodbye.
Yes, I hate goodbyes, and so to my brother I say, so long...'til we meet again.
So long Ed, you will be greatly missed.
