If you had a genie...
March 6th 2007 01:35
Let's throw logic to the air for a while and enjoy a bit of fantasy...If a genie asked you what three wishes you wanted, what would it be? No world peace please, not that we don't all want that but I want you to think of something you personally want, for you and yourself alone.
So, what would it be? And how did this question make you feel? Was it difficult to think of three things you wanted?
I've always been a nurturer who often thinks of another person's well-being before myself. And though there is nothing wrong about being a caring person, sometimes in the process we lose ourselves. In our desire to help others we tend to forget what it is we want for ourselves. At times we even feel guilty if we so much as think of what would benefit us. The irony is sometimes the people whom we spend so much time caring for, loving and helping out doesn't even reciprocate our efforts. Granted one shouldn't expect anything in return, but wouldn't it be nice to at least be acknowledged? It's kinda like "I gave him my heart and he gave me a pencil".
So now I'm trying to resolve not to let myself be swept away by what others want me to do or what they expect from me. Instead I'm trying to listen to that little voice inside of me who whispers these three wishes:
1. To write songs
2. To write a book
3. And to visit Disneyland
Yes, it's about time for ME.

My first wish would be ... I wish I could have 1000,000 wishes granted ...
That stuffed the genie up didnt' it? ... * She has to grant them ...
So 2-1000,000 ... Here we go ...
I hope Orble have a huge hard-drive capacity ... (that doesn't count as a wish either ... that's a 'Hope' ...
I'm only kidding, btw ... okay? ... I will not put 1,000,000 wishes on one of your comments, okay? ...
My real three wishes all relate to seeing, touching and entering a Woman.
But since I've still got 999, 996 left ...
I'll use three of them up on you, since you need some Me time ...
1. That you write songs.
2. That you write a book.
3. That you visit Disneyland.
Once a person has got everything they want or desire out of life? It's easy to be generous ... It's not selfish to seek or get Me time ... It's necessary to be able to give and be generous ... (If only people knew more about the true order of Charity ... how there are three descending steps ... [I'm not instructing them on it, though ... They're not interested ... I'll just write this:
David ...
Oh, and I love the simplicity of your desires (wishes) ...

"My first wish would be ... I wish I could have 1000,000 wishes granted ... "
Reminds me of an essay question back in high school to which I answered "My one wish would be to have an infinite amount of wishes." My teacher gave me a C - she didn't have a sense of humor.
"My real three wishes all relate to seeing, touching and entering a Woman. "
This cracked me up!
David, I'm interested to know the three desending steps with regards to the order of Charity. Teach me, I'm all ears, er, eyes.
"no one can give what they don't have" - so true.
And yes, I'm a simple person...I don't even wear make-up, and there are very few women brave enough to do that ,lol.

My first wish would be to have more faith, so that I would know that everything will work out fine, the worst is behind me and providence will eventually smile on me ... I just have to relax a bit more.
My second wish would be that I have more patience to give more to those around me who need it, especially my children ... and in waiting for providence to smile on me more ...
My third has to be universal, and it is that oil was never discovered, nor any other substance like it, that has allowed the balance of our lives (and world), to be so devastatingly disrupted.
That's it, I guess three wishes come and gone...
thanks for the flight of fancy,
Lilla ...
