I'm Back!
November 7th 2006 00:47
Yay! After days of being away from the internet, which incidentally is something I greatly missed, I'm now back online. We are in our new home, it's bigger and nicer than our last residence and we still have tons of unpacking to do. I was supposed to be online last Friday but the cable guy didn't show up so I had to wait another 2 days to get connected.
The hardest part about moving is carrying all the stuff from our old home into our new residence. I had a good workout though, my leg muscles were sore from the countless trips I made. For those who are planning on moving here are some points which may be of help:
1. Plan ahead. It's important to get everything ready and organized prior to moving to avoid added stress and confusion. Take notes.
2. Light things first. When moving and carrying things it's better to start with light items first that way you won't be too tired when it comes to moving the heavier stuff. Think of it as a warm-up.
3. Label everything. Make sure you label boxes and/or containers, that way it would be easier to find items when it's time to unpack.
4. Clean before packing. It's wise to clean items prior to packing them. Wash or wipe items before putting them in boxes or other containers.
5. Enlist the help of friends. Don't be embarrased to ask help from family and friends when moving. they can help you organize your things, carry things or assist you in anyway to make the move as smooth as possible.
We were lucky we had some friends who came over and helped us, we didn't need to hire movers. It's fun and cheaper that way
Any added tips?
