Levels of Giftedness

There are different levels of giftedness based on the child's IQ. Here is a general guide:

- Mildly Gifted - IQ 115 - 129

- Moderately Gifted - IQ 130 - 144


- Highly Gifted - IQ 145 - 159

- Exceptionally Gifted - IQ 160 - 179

- Profoundly Gifted - IQ 180 and above

Of course in order to gauge the IQ of your child he/she needs to be tested by a qualified psychologist. My daughter falls on the Highly Gifted bracket.

I don't believe IQ's are a very exact indication of ones capabilities in the real world. If that were the case god knows I'd be writing for a prestigous newspaper by now... or probably owned several...

Theres nothing wrong with having a bit of confidence though.

I agree Ahmed, IQ tests are only a means of gauging the mental ability of a person based on expected skills. I know someone from college who was really smart in class but when it came to real-life situations he was often at a loss.

There are quite a few mentally retarded people who are exceptionally talented artists.

This african american boy I saw on TV, about 8 years old has a leraning difficulty, but he can draw the most amazing pictures of buildings. not like other artists who sketch, he just drew solid sharp lines and came up with the end product.

The brain is quite mysterious in its own right.

My daughter too is artistically gifted - musically and artistically...drawing is her passion but she has a great singing voice too.
