We recently bought a 60-piece Special Parts Magnetix for our daughter. Magnetix is made by Mega and the one we bought has the bars, triangles and squares for $9.99. Magnetix is sort of like Lego, you can build many designs using the different parts. But what makes Magnetix nicer is that it uses magnets (hence the name), which makes constructing and disassembling easier.
Take a look at this design my daughter made:
A note of caution though, because this toy has small parts it's not advisable for children 3 years old and younger.
Magnetix comes in various shapes, colors and models so the more you collect the grander the designs you can make. On a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 as the highest, I give this toy a 4 for creativity and educational value.
