Memories of Disney

Going to Disneyland has always been a dream of mine, a dream which started when I was in high school.
I clearly recall one lazy afternoon having a particularly solemn talk with my friends and pondering what we envisioned for our future. We were on our last year in high school; everyone was feeling anxious about leaving our beloved alma mater and going our separate ways. Back then thinking about going to college was pretty terrifying, so instead we focused on the distant future. One of my friends asked, "Where do you think you would be when you turn 35?" Each of us took turns mulling over this question...
This was my answer: "I'll be married, have 3 kids and vacationing in Disneyland." Fast forward to today and it's quite evident that my prophecy isn't 100% accurate. So what's my point?
We all have dreams and we all try our best to turn these dreams into reality. Yet oftentimes there are obstacles along the way...it may divert us, confuse us, lead us to the wrong path or force us to stop. But we must never, ever let these obstacles defeat us. Never turn back, let's keep our eyes on our destination, continue driving forward and pay attention to the lessons along the way. Because in the end it's really not how long we get there, it's how we get there that counts.
