The Break Up and the 12 Dancing Princesses

So I finally got to watch the Vaughn-Aniston movie "The Break Up" on DVD. I was actually sure I wouldn't like it cause i read the reviews when it first came out in theatres. But surprisingly I really enjoyed the movie and related to Aniston's character on some level. I could also see some of my hubby's personality in Vaughn's character. For those who don't know, the ending of the movie was actually a reshoot but they included the alternate ending in the DVD. I like the reshoot better but the alternate ending is amusing.

Anyway, I was able to watch "The 12 Dancing Princesses" with my daughter. It's also available now on DVD, it's a Barbie movie by the way. My daughter collects the Barbie movies, she also has the dolls but most were gifts to her. I think she enjoys the movies more than the dolls which is fine by me since the movies are quite well made.

Here are the Barbie movies in case you're interested to rent or buy it for your child:

Rapunzel
Nutcracker
Swan Lake
Princess and the Pauper
Magic of Pegasus
Fairytopia
Mermaidia
12 Dancing Princesses
Barbie Diaries

The movies are very colorful, has lots of music and the story is well written. In case you're wondering, I have watched all that I've listed above with my daughter, my fave is Princess and the Pauper.

We've watched all of those except Rapunzel and the Barbie Diaries. Not sure how we missed those.

I like the Barbie movies because the characters are such good examples. They don't decide that the ends justify the means.

Hello Adele! Thanks for always visiting my blog. Rapunzel was the one which got us hooked, it was the first one we watched. The Barbie Diaries is different from the other movies, in terms of setting and characters, but the message is still "to be true to yourself".

I agree that the characters are good examples and it's something kids can watch and get something out of. They are making another fairy movie by the way.
