Unit Studies: All About Policemen
May 31st 2007 12:41
Unit study is a method often used by homeschoolers. This means that a specific topic or subject is introduced to a child, incorporating the lesson in various learning activities. Let me give you an example of a unit study, here I will give you resources to learn more about policemen.
Police History
Learning About Policemen Through Crafts
Lesson Plans About Law Enforcement and other related stuff
Easy Reader: Police Officer Nadine Jojola
Printable Coloring Pages
Virtual Museum: Canadian Military Police
Unit studies is a fun, systematic way of teaching children that both teachers and parents can use to enrich a child's learning. I plan on putting up more unit study ideas soon.

My day job is as a technical trainer of sorts for a very large video game company. *ahem* So this is quite interesting.
I'll have to look into this "unit theory" buzzword, as my dreams include deanship and fatherhood... two different types of curricula, to be sure, but it can't hurt to learn how to learn.

Hey, your day job sounds fascinating, playing video games is one way i unwind.
Unit studies is a very effective teaching method. Some create their own unit study ideas and lesson plans but there are packaged unit studies you can buy such as KONOS.
