Dadsense

November 15th 2008 00:48
This is another video of the very funny Anita Renfroe; it's a response to The Mom Song which became very popular indeed. This time, she condenses what dads tell their kids most of the time. So funny and yet so true...

The Mom Song

November 15th 2008 00:29
This song has been going around the net for some time now and of course I'd like to share it with you. The song is titled "Momsense" by Anita Renfroe, sung to the tune of the William Tell Overture. I think this song is brilliant and hilarious; it encapsulates what moms usually tell their kids as they grow up. Here it is:

What do you do if, on the day of your wedding, your groom fails to show up? This classic film which was released in 1937 stars Anne Nagel (as Shiela, the jilted bride), Henry Mollison (Eric, the MIA groom) and Warren Hull (as Henry, Shiela's lawyer and stand-in groom who is secretly in love with her).

Don't you just love these classic romcoms?

9-11

September 12th 2008 01:29
It's been 7 years since the tragic incident occurred...a fateful day that shook the whole world. Everyone watched transfixed, helpless, lost for words, mixed emotions raging in our hearts. That day, thousands were lost - fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, friends.....heroes. As we look back on 9/11, let us say a prayer for all the victims and the grieving families they left behind. And let us make a solemn promise that each day, in our own little way, to help make this world a safer place to live in, for us, for our children and the future generation.

Here's a touching video of Kristi Nelson's song - "Mama Will Hold Me"

Video of the Week: Nancy Drew

August 29th 2008 02:57
I used to collect these books by Caroline Keene when I was a girl. On days when I have time for some light reading, I borrow new editions of these books from the library. If you're a fan of this smart, female sleuth and fond of watching old movies, you'll be pleased to know that a film based on this series is available in the public domain. The movie is titled "Nancy Drew...Reporter" starring Bonita Granville as Nancy.

You can watch the film here. Enjoy!

You've Got to See This

June 19th 2008 09:29
I saw this great video on YouTube and wanted to share it with fellow Orblers. This video features two musicians who belong to different age groups and live about 2,000 miles apart. They managed to create a video without meeting each other in person. Yup, this is what they call a YouTube collaboration and it came out pretty well. Love the song too!
